You knew this was coming. The Parent Educational Advocacy Training Center asked Nurvee to develop the first mobile application for special education, called the IEP Checklist. Available in both English and Spanish, the app’s structure helps keep parents better informed by making IEP information and structure easier to access and use before and during the IEP meeting. Nurvee is already working on version 2.0, which would allow audio recording, data export, and multi-lingual user interfaces. Find the free download at the Itunes store, or at the website http://www.peatc.org/.
“This innovative use of technology by PEATC gives parents, students, and teachers a new tool leading to more effective participation and, hopefully, improved quality of IEPs.” - Robert H. Pasternack, Ph.D; NCSP Former Assistant Secretary, U.S. Department of Education Office of Special Education and Rehabilitation. ~
